Back in my favorite small town on this itinerary, Okemah OK.From my wonderful day in Santa Fe with @g_20190 - we happened to catch the 100 year celebration at the New Mexico Museum of Art. Must go back. #santafe #newmexico #newmexicomuseumofart #fallfoliageLess than a mile from where I live. New Mexico is such a beautiful place. Pinch me.Me and my dog. Santa Fe.Last Spartan shot for now. That’s Frank Lloyd Wright’s Price Tower, Bartlesville OK, reflected in the window of the street-side back door. #franklloydwright #pricetower #spartan #vintagetrailer #bartlesville @price_towerBeen on remote 2-lane highways for most of this trip. Stopped this morning to help a fellow traveler change a blown tire because I’ve got a pretty good jack and tire iron that - knock on wood - I don’t need.Silverado with the crew cab and long bed plus a 40+ foot Spartan. I’m longer than an 18-wheeler. That makes me very happy. I’m a weirdo. Here’s what I’ve been pulling for the last 900 miles. 300 more to go.Well, what started out as a 3-4 day trip to get a 1951 Spartan - under restoration on behalf of a client of ours - from the curved window specialist in Indiana back to Jemez Springs has turned into a full 6 day trip. I could have made it back last night if I wanted to drive the grasslands of western Oklahoma/northeastern New Mexico in the dark. But I decided to stop in Buffalo OK just after dusk. Got up this morning and headed west, into a wind storm. With a 40 foot trailer in tow. So I’m stopping again, this time for safety. Clayton NM 88415.Roadside repair # 8 or 9. Back window again, this time in a rather sudden wind storm in the Oklahoma panhandle, about 30 miles from the New Mexico State line. When all else fails, bring out the aluminum tape. There he is, on our epic final road trip before he goes to his new owner, a Saab enthusiast in Breckinridge CO. #porsche #911scThe slow drive down Rock Creek means it’s easy to take a couple photos out the window of the car. #porsche #911scTaking the old boy down to DMV for his biannual second (or third) emissions test usually means getting stuck in Rock Creek traffic. No different this year. #porsche #911scSunsets at the new place are the best. There's a large deck out front which will see many glasses of wine. And probably some pretty excellent roasted chicken dinners. Our new house is a 2BR plus loft, 2BA A-frame cabin set on one acre at the base of red rock formations on both sides, with the Jemez River across the road. The aspen are turning yellow all along the Jemez River. It's beautiful. This is the view from the house we rented today in Jemez Springs, after about 3 months of housing instability. What a relief, and what a beautiful place to be able to live. #jemezsprings #newmexico @nomadmmlodgeNew Mexico sunsets, 3. #newmexico #sunset #cloudpornNew Mexico sunsets, 2. #newmexico #jemezmountains #jemezsprings #cloudpornNew Mexico sunsets, 1.
